Selective Nerve Root Blocks

Selective Nerve Root Blocks (SNRB)
Selective Nerve Root Blocks (SNRB) is the first phase of the diagnosis to find the cause of pain of the nerves. When the nerves are depressed and infected, it will cause back and leg pain which may not show up in an MRI or x-ray. However, SNRB can help in the diagnosis of the pain.
SNRB is an injection of a combination of drugs. A mobile x-ray machine called a fluoroscopy will help indicate where the injection should be administered. SNRB is more complex than any other spinal cord injections and should be carried out by an experienced physician. For some patients, SNRB may only temporarily alleviate their pain but for those whose pain stems from friction and infection of the spinal bones and discs, this may actually cure their pain.
